This one page, fully editable resource provides a “ready to go” statement to explain to your Senior team and Ofsted how metacognition is inherent in art education in your school. Metacognition is basically thinking about thinking and it is widely considered that this mindset can positively impact on learning. Do your students ever complain that they don’t see the point of visual art education? I know mine do!
So, I give them this handout to help them see the amazing opportunities that art provides and how the skills learnt through art education support other subjects and simply add a wealth of qualities to a person’s life.
The handout has also got lots of cool visuals and is written in a student friendly style.
Hope it helps.
